Event… Selfridges teams up with Project Ocean -bringing ocean issues to the masses and raises money for conservation projects
Leave a commentThe ocean is under threat from over-fishing and poor fishing practices. Selfridges is partnering with more than 20 environmental groups to celebrate the beauty of the ocean.. The brainchild of Selfridges’ Creative Director Alannah Weston this project is getting just the right attention and raising awareness about a very serious issue that is overlooked by many. The exhibition showcases 26 Haute Couture and iconic sea-themed pieces from designers including Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan, Gareth Pugh and Philip Treacy.
Judith Clark collaborated with some of the world’s leading museums and fashion institutions including the V&A, Palazzo Pitti and the The London College of Fashion.
The British fashion designer Katharine Hamnett has collaborating with Selfridges for a capsule collection of slogan t-shirts, towels and tote bags for the department store’s Project Ocean campaign to fund additional marine protected areas.
